Eucalyptus Essential Oil.

What do you know about this amazing plant?

Eucalyptus plant is also know as Tasmanian Blue gum and is native to Australia. It is the main food source for the koala bear. It has tremendous nutritional value for wild life. The essential oil is extracted from the leaves.

It’s name is derived from Greek, eucalyptos, meaning well covered. The flower buds are covered with a membrane which is thrown off as the flower expands.

There are over 700 varieties of this plant.

This evergreen plant is able to survive the very common wild fire of Australia. It has dormant shoots inside the tree and roots which germinate only under the trigger of heat from the flames. The plant can live for up to 250 years.

A BIT of Folklore.

An early settler had his thumb severed by an axe. His father, who knew about Aboriginal folk medicine, advised that he apply a bandage of tightly bound eucalyptus leaves around the cut after it was sutured.

The Aborigines used eucalyptus, or “kino” as they referred to it, to heal most wounds they encountered. Later, when a surgeon saw the wound, he remarked how amazed he was because the thumb healed so quickly and without any trace of infection.

Reports like this spread throughout Australia. A pharmacist called Joseph Bosisto began playing with the idea of commercially producing eucalyptus in 1852. Soon after the first Eucalyptus radiata was distilled in Melbourne.

The oils I’m talking about are Young Living 100% therapeutic grade essential oils.

I have learned a lot through using the oils myself over the years but I needed qualified and experienced support team behind me before I could offer them to other people.

Before I begin here is the DISCLAIMER

I am not trying to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease’

In this first article I’m writing about Lavender Essential Oil and all it’s incredible benefits.

Lavender oil has been used down the centuries as a massage oil.

One only has to think about Romans and their lavish baths.

  • Put 7 drops on the spine and add a carrier oil.

  • Nothing more calming and relaxing than a back massage at the end of a day.

  • Great oil for elderly people.

BALANCING AND CALMING

  • Helps balance and calm emotions.

Create a Business and Life You Love

How to stop your projects and passions becoming a lost dream and pushed aside.

Would you like to Create a Business and Life You Love?

  • Do you ever feel squashed and squeezed under the weight of all your  projects?

  • Does it feel harder and harder to achieve things and get them to completion?
  • Are you adding more and more to your must have morning routines, evening routines, all your wellness routines, trying to keep up with all the latest ideas?

What if you could streamline your life and free up more time for projects?

If you are feeling overwhelmed with work and all your routines and want to make more time for your passions and achieve your goals and finish your business project then listen on.

I’ve been where you are and although I’m still good at multi-tasking I used to be stressed and overwhelmed with my

TO DO LIST. Here’s how I found a simpler path to less stress and achieving more of my goals.

Are you are at the stage of being too busy with work and have no spare time for your projects?

You and millions of other people are in the same position of overwhelm, stress, overcommitted. So you don’t want to hear more routines from me.

This is what I say to my self everyday: ‘Streamline, clarify in order to expand and extend.’

This is how I did it.

www. judithatkinson.com

Seriously take a look at what you can reduce, simplify or find an alternative way to get things done and free up some time for you passion.

  1. Reduce all your complicated daily routines. I wrote down a list of all my routines and then found ways to reduce them.
Sometimes we can take this just a little too far. Have you heard your self saying : ‘I’ve got to read this latest book, listen to this important webinar, how this new health product works ,!!! Life then becomes an obsession and not a true pleasure. You are so busy running you have no time to enjoy.
Don’t misunderstand me, I do meditate but not for an hour, 10 minutes will do. Exercise is also top of my list to maintain a healthy life style, but MODERATION.
With the Internet there are dozens of new things every day that you must try, NOW! Then the guilt comes in. Have I made my smoothies Oh dear, I forgot gratitude in my meditation this morning. What about the coconut oil pulling for my oral health? Plus shopping, housework, kids to school, meals, the list is endless.

Only work on 1 project at a time.

OK,I know you want to produce home made greetings cards; learn Spanish because you want to go there on holiday;open a health food store.!!!!! Get the picture?
A saying that may help: ‘A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.’
Don’t lose it all. Doing less will give you more.
If you are chasing everything at once nothing gets done or completed. You never gain any momentum or satisfaction.

Another quote from Confucius:

´A man who chases 2 rabbits catches neither.’

  • What’s the one project that needs more of your time and attention and why?
  • What’s the next watershed or level that you need to achieve to take you over that finish line?

Quite simply reduce your number of projects and commitments so you can extend your results in the limited time you have.

List all the challenges you have i.e. personal life, fitness, project.

Now simplify all the above, reduce or even remove.

Get a very clear focus on the one thing you are going to achieve in order to get your project and purpose on target and moving forward.

Set yourself a time limit for completion using the time you have freed up. Only work on that one task until you are done.

Next, any free time you have you can then move your project forward again to its completion.

Not until you have finished this stage do you move forward to the next stage. Stay on target and keep your focus.

Remember you have to streamline to extend and expand.

Saying: It is possible to move mountains by carrying small stones.’ 5 completed small tasks are likely to bring you more.

Take a look at the book: The Progress Principle’ by Theresa Amabile and Steven Kramer. Also Danielle Laporte’s new book: ‘The Desire Map’ is a winner.

N.B. Only when you have complete the task in hand

And finally,  What’s one simply project that requires time and attention and why?

What’s the next task that will move you forward and closer to finished?

Citronella Essential Oil Candles and Beeswax.
Don’t Bug Me

Citronella Essential Oil cnadles made with beeswax with give you an enjoyable outdoors this summer.

With summer comes cookouts, BBQs and BUGS!!!!

What better way to keep them at bay than with some natural bug repellent beeswax candles? Quick and easy to make.

Use any combination of bug repelling essential oils, CITRONELLA, rosemary, lemon, peppermint, orange, lemongrass.

Any kind of jars you like. I use 4 oz. Jars as a preference.

Make a batch all in one go.

Light them and let them slowly burn so your friends, family and guests can enjoy the company instead of with the bugs.

These candles will instantly transform your patio or BBQ area into an enchanting fragrance- filled summer party time.

Here’s to a fun free summer staying naturally bug free.

Items you will need>:

#Wicks. I prefer cotton wicks. Some wicks contain toxins. I use no 2 size.

#100% filtered Beeswax. Paraffin wax gives off harmful toxins and artificial scents.

Beeswax purifies the air.

# Metal wick tabs. Some contain lead.

Chopsticks, tooth picks or pencils to steady the wicks in the jars,

A Pyrex type of dish or tin. DON’T USE YOUR BEST UTENSILS. Beeswax is not easy to remove.

A large pan that will take the bowl or tin inside

Oven parchment paper to place the jars on.

A selection of jars.

#If you have no local source then PayPal or Amazon have what you need.

METHOD

  • Measure the length of wicks. About 1and half times the height of your jar. Make a small knot at one end.

Thread the wick through the wick holder.

Dunk the wick in melted wax.

This helps it adhere to the CENTRE bottom of the jar.

NB. Wax is hot!!!!!!. Watch fingers.

Push wick down onto bottom of jar.

  • Add water to large pan.

Put wax into bowl or can and place in the large pan of water.

Melt wax over a LOW heat. ( 30 mins)

NB. Always have a lid close at hand in case wax becomes over heated.

DON’T heat to boiling point!!!!!!

  • Whilst wax is melting place the jars in the lowest heat in the oven. This helps stop the wax cooling too quickly and then cracking the candle.

Once wax has melted turn off the oven and remove jars carefully.

Place on a tray covered with the parchment paper.

  • Next add the CITRONELLA and other oils to the melted beeswax and pour carefully into a glass measuring jar. (Not your best.) for easy pouring.

THIS WAX IS HOT!

Pour wax carefully into the jars. Leave about and 1inch ( from top of jar.

  • Prop wick up straight between 2 chops sticks ( or similar).

Dunk wick in oil to help adhere to supports.

Put candles back in oven. Switched off. To allow them to cool down slowly and avoid any cracking.

  • Let them sit for 12-24 hours.

  • Trim the wicks to about 1 inch ( about 20mm )above the wax, BELOW top of jar.

4oz jars are easy to light with a match.

These make great gifts!

Was this your first time making candles?

How did they work out?

Share your hints and tips.
