How Essential Oils Changed my Skincare Routine forever.

How Essential Oils Changed my Skin Routine.

Hello again! Now the searing heat of summer has gone and the slightly cooler autumn days and evening are with us I thought I would share some of my all natural facial lotions and potions that I make using essential oils.

Cold weather can bring misery with it especially as we age.

It is so easy to develop dry or cracked skin,

Learn to give your skin the love and nourishment craving by using natural skin care with Baobab oil.

DRY SKIN SALVE USING BAOBAB OIL

This simple but powerful dry skin recipe contains a blend of natural ingredients that not only relieve dry cracked skin, but also contains an energising blend of orange and ginger oils to soothe minor aches and pains.

A QUICK NOTE ABOUT OIL: BAOBAB

I chose to include this oil in my natural dry skin salve recipe for several reasons. Not only is this versatile African carrier oil famed for its emollient and moisturising skin care properties, but it’s also absorbed quickly by skin so there is no greasy after feel. Additionally, the presence of Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids give baobab oil some beneficial anti-inflammatory properties and help to promote soft healthy skin.

INGREDIENTS:

1 oz.  Baobab
.
5 oz. Shea nut oil
.5 oz.
  Beeswax
drops 5-fold orange essential oil
6 drops fresh ginger essential oil
1-2 drops
vitamin E oiloptional

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP #1:

Weigh out the beeswax, Shea nut oil and Baobab oil.

Combine in a double boiler or microwave in a Pyrex style bowl.

Gently heat untill of the beeswax has melted. ( Don’t use full heat.)

STEP #2:

Remove from heat then, using a dropper add the vitamin E oil along with the orange and ginger essential oils.

Stir well to combine, then pour into a 2 oz. amber or cobalt jar.

Once the salve hardens it’s ready to use.

Simply apply to hands, feet and other areas of dry skin on your body.

You can also apply this salve to chapped lips.

Essential Oil Lip Balm Recipe

There is much experimentation that you can do by mixing and blending until you find your favourite essential oil recipe for lips, I’ll share my favourite with you now so you can have a base from which to get started.

Lavender-Mint Lip Balm

Melt the carrier oils in a pan whilst carefully stirring.

tablespoons Beeswax

tablespoons Coconut Oil

tablespoons Shea Butter

Remove from heat and add:

15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

15 drops Lavender Essential Oil

After stirring in oils, pour into lip balm containers or tins. Let cool.

Purchase your lip balm containers here.

Using the best essential oils for lips allows your body to make the most of the way your lips look, feel, and even taste.

Best Essential Oil for Lip Balm

I choose Peppermint oil s it is one of the best oils for lips because of its cooling and soothing properties.

It promotes healing, helps with fresh breath and helps fight against cold sores.

Peppermint oil also works to increase circulation. It may even make your lips look a little plumper and luscious.!!!!

Frankincense Wrinkle-reducing Face cream

Ingredients

1/4 cup Shea Butter
1/4 cup
Organic coconut Oil
8-10 drops
Frankincense Essential Oil
5-7 drops
Lavender Essential Oil

Using a double boiler, melt shea butter and coconut oil together until liquid. Remove from heat and let cool for about 30 minutes.

Drop in and stir Frankincense and Lavender essential oils.

Start here: Wait for mix to partially solidify (you can even put it in the freezer for up to 20 minutes to speed the process).

Then whip with your hand mixer until you achieve a butter-like consistency.

Store in a 4 oz mason style jar

This should keep for 6-12 months in your bathroom cupboard.

You could also add in Vitamin E oil

DIY After Shave/Oil for Dry Skin

This oil mix is great for dry skin to help repair the skin, or used instead of aftershave.

 8-10 Drops Frankincense Essential Oil
8-10 Drops Bergamot Essential Oil
4 ml Jojoba Oil

You will need: an empty 5ml oil bottle.

Add first 8-10 drops of each Frankincense and Bergamot into an empty 5ml essential oil bottle.

Then fill up with Jojoba oil.

Use daily, after shaving or instead of moisturising lotion.

This mix is great especially in the mornings for the oil’s uplifting properties.

Bergamot has the fresh , sweet, citrus scent that is familiar to many as the flavouring in Earl Grey Tea.

 It is uplifting and relaxing.

Good for building confidence and enhancing your mood.

Tip: you can reuse an empty bottle of Frankincense or Bergamot or other empty essential oils bottle that will mix well with these two oils.

As you will see once you have purchased your basic carrier oils they are used for many natural potions and lotions for skin care and are quick and easy to produce. It makes them economical to produce and of course they are chemical free.

Enjoy experimenting and do let me know your favourite recipes.

Help make this a chemical free world.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil. What do YOU know about this amazing plant and what it can do for you???

By | August 13th, 2017|Categories: Essential Oils, Eucalyptus|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Eucalyptus Essential Oil.

What do you know about this amazing plant?

Eucalyptus plant is also know as Tasmanian Blue gum and is native to Australia. It is the main food source for the koala bear. It has tremendous nutritional value for wild life. The essential oil is extracted from the leaves.

It’s name is derived from Greek, eucalyptos, meaning well covered. The flower buds are covered with a membrane which is thrown off as the flower expands.

There are over 700 varieties of this plant.

This evergreen plant is able to survive the very common wild fire of Australia. It has dormant shoots inside the tree and roots which germinate only under the trigger of heat from the flames. The plant can live for up to 250 years.

A BIT of Folklore.

An early settler had his thumb severed by an axe. His father, who knew about Aboriginal folk medicine, advised that he apply a bandage of tightly bound eucalyptus leaves around the cut after it was sutured.

The Aborigines used eucalyptus, or “kino” as they referred to it, to heal most wounds they encountered. Later, when a surgeon saw the wound, he remarked how amazed he was because the thumb healed so quickly and without any trace of infection.

Reports like this spread throughout Australia. A pharmacist called Joseph Bosisto began playing with the idea of commercially producing eucalyptus in 1852. Soon after the first Eucalyptus radiata was distilled in Melbourne.

  1. Eucalyptus Research and Studies.

There is some exciting eucalyptus oil research.

Eucalyptus oil benefits are due to it’s ability to stimulate immunity, provide antioxidant protection and improve respiratory circulation.

There are over 1676 studies showing in Pub.Med alone, with some amazing results.

Research is being done on drug resistant bacterial infections like tuberculosis, lowering high blood pressure, reducing inflammation and pain, to killing leukaemia cells, HIV/AIDS

One of the most effective ways to use eucalyptus for colds is to put several drops in your diffuser, especially before going to sleep. This way you have the benefits all night. Add a few drops of Peppermint oil and you’ll have a great night’s sleep.

      1. Respiratory Problems

Today, Eucalyptus is used for another of it’s medicinal properites, conditions like asthma, bronchitis, congestion and sore throat. It he and allows more oxygen into the lungs.lps dilate the blood vessels.

I can personally testify that my husband has found tremendous relief from asthma and hay fever. For many years he had cortisone injections, which are know for side effects. This year I used a natural product as a roll on called Breathe Again. It only uses a selection essential oils including eucalyptus and peppermint. First year ever FREE of the debilitating conditions plus no harmful chemicals or inhalers.

It is also recommended to gargle with this oil to clear a sore throat.

      1. Wound Treatment.

Eucalyptus has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties that are effective at treating, cuts, sores wounds, bites and stings. It helps keep the effective area free from infection and acts as a pain reliever, soothes the skin and helps with blood clotting.

It kills the germs as they enter the wound.

When the oil is exposed to the atmosphere it forms a gas called ozone which is a powerful antiseptic.

Don’t forget to use Eucalyptus oil on your pets.

  • Remember to keep away from eyes and open wounds.

      1. Muscular Aches and Pains

Do you suffer from muscular aches and pains due to a variety of conditions?

Try rubbing Eucalyptus oil onto the area. It will help reduce the pain associated with the injury by reducing inflammation.

It’s great if you have overdone your workout!

      1. Hair Nourishment and Head Lice.

It is as natural pesticide and a perfect head lice treatment without chemicals or toxins. The oil can be combed through the skin. Using prescribed treatments can lead to hair loss and toxic side effects.

A few drops of Eucalyptus oil with some coconut oils give your hair a pick-me- up and wards of itchy scalp and dandruff.

      1. Helping Diabetic Symptoms.

Eucalyptus oil can remove and control the levels of glucose in your blood. This is because of the effect if has on the diameter of the blood vessels.

A great way to use the oil is in your diffuser or good results can be obtained from massage therapy.

      1. Mental Focus and Reduction of Exhaustion

In today’s world there are many mental conditions that can affect us stress, overwhelm, overactive mind,

The chemical properties in the oil cause it to be a vasodilator.

It expands the blood vessels in the body by allowing the muscles them to relax.

More blood in your brain means it can process information more rapidly.

There are now experiments in schools to help children focus more on their studies.

Some studies show increases in their performance but there still remains much more research to be done.

      1. Natural Home Remedies

  • Household Cleaner

It gives a fresh fragrance to your home and adds anti-microbial properties

Put a few drops of oil in your vacuum clean, clothes dryer, laundry, soap, toilet cleaner,

The list is endless.

Like Lemon essential oil, eucalyptus oil is very effective at removing stains and spots on carpets, clothes,

Always test on a hidden piece of fabric first. You don’t want a bad reaction with some synthetic chemical in the fabric s!!!!

  • Hand cleaner.

Simply mix with some sea salt, epsom salt and watch the grease and dirt disappear

  • Odour remover

Simply mix with Lemon oil or Tea Tree oil for an anti odour spray.

Use on smelly shoes, stinky dog baskets etc.

As you can see the benefits of Eucalyptus oil are awesome.

There 3 are main varieties used are Eucalyptus Radiata, Eucalyptus Globulos and Eucalyptus Blue. I will be posting a separate article on my blog to explain the differences of these amazing oils.

The oils I’m talking about are Young Living 100% therapeutic grade essential oils.

I have learned a lot through using the oils myself over the years but I needed qualified and experienced support team behind me before I could offer them to other people.

Before I begin here is the DISCLAIMER

I am not trying to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease’

In this first article I’m writing about Lavender Essential Oil and all it’s incredible benefits.

Lavender oil has been used down the centuries as a massage oil.

One only has to think about Romans and their lavish baths.

  • Nothing more calming and relaxing than a back massage at the end of a day.

  • Great oil for elderly people.

BALANCING AND CALMING

  • Helps balance and calm emotions.

  • Acts as a mood enhancer.

Create a Business and Life You Love

By | July 29th, 2017|Categories: Business Development|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , |

Create a Business and Life You Love

How to stop your projects and passions becoming a lost dream and pushed aside.

Would you like to Create a Business and Life You Love?

  • Do you ever feel squashed and squeezed under the weight of all your  projects?

  • Does it feel harder and harder to achieve things and get them to completion?
  • Are you adding more and more to your must have morning routines, evening routines, all your wellness routines, trying to keep up with all the latest ideas?

What if you could streamline your life and free up more time for projects?

If you are feeling overwhelmed with work and all your routines and want to make more time for your passions and achieve your goals and finish your business project then listen on.

I’ve been where you are and although I’m still good at multi-tasking I used to be stressed and overwhelmed with my

TO DO LIST. Here’s how I found a simpler path to less stress and achieving more of my goals.

Are you are at the stage of being too busy with work and have no spare time for your projects?

You and millions of other people are in the same position of overwhelm, stress, overcommitted. So you don’t want to hear more routines from me.

This is what I say to my self everyday: ‘Streamline, clarify in order to expand and extend.’

This is how I did it.

www. judithatkinson.com

Seriously take a look at what you can reduce, simplify or find an alternative way to get things done and free up some time for you passion.

  1. Reduce all your complicated daily routines. I wrote down a list of all my routines and then found ways to reduce them.
Sometimes we can take this just a little too far. Have you heard your self saying : ‘I’ve got to read this latest book, listen to this important webinar, how this new health product works ,!!! Life then becomes an obsession and not a true pleasure. You are so busy running you have no time to enjoy.
Don’t misunderstand me, I do meditate but not for an hour, 10 minutes will do. Exercise is also top of my list to maintain a healthy life style, but MODERATION.
With the Internet there are dozens of new things every day that you must try, NOW! Then the guilt comes in. Have I made my smoothies Oh dear, I forgot gratitude in my meditation this morning. What about the coconut oil pulling for my oral health? Plus shopping, housework, kids to school, meals, the list is endless.

Only work on 1 project at a time.

OK,I know you want to produce home made greetings cards; learn Spanish because you want to go there on holiday;open a health food store.!!!!! Get the picture?
A saying that may help: ‘A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.’
Don’t lose it all. Doing less will give you more.
If you are chasing everything at once nothing gets done or completed. You never gain any momentum or satisfaction.

Another quote from Confucius:

´A man who chases 2 rabbits catches neither.’

  • What’s the one project that needs more of your time and attention and why?
  • What’s the next watershed or level that you need to achieve to take you over that finish line?

Quite simply reduce your number of projects and commitments so you can extend your results in the limited time you have.

List all the challenges you have i.e. personal life, fitness, project.

Now simplify all the above, reduce or even remove.

Get a very clear focus on the one thing you are going to achieve in order to get your project and purpose on target and moving forward.

Set yourself a time limit for completion using the time you have freed up. Only work on that one task until you are done.

Next, any free time you have you can then move your project forward again to its completion.

Not until you have finished this stage do you move forward to the next stage. Stay on target and keep your focus.

Remember you have to streamline to extend and expand.

Saying: It is possible to move mountains by carrying small stones.’ 5 completed small tasks are likely to bring you more.

Take a look at the book: The Progress Principle’ by Theresa Amabile and Steven Kramer. Also Danielle Laporte’s new book: ‘The Desire Map’ is a winner.

N.B. Only when you have complete the task in hand

And finally,  What’s one simply project that requires time and attention and why?

What’s the next task that will move you forward and closer to finished?
