So You Want to Start Your Own Home Based Business?  Why?

It can seem like a really great idea to work from home, after all this is what is being pitched at us all over the Internet. It´s often billed as the miracle and solution to all your personal, financial, family and business problems.

Two and a half years ago I ventured onto the Internet with the very same idea and that was all it was. I didn´t ask any questions because I didn´t know what to ask.

Did I make mistakes? Oh Yes, too many to mention.

But today I´m still here and would now like to be able to help you without any hype or pressure.

But is it?  And Is It for you?

Before you throw yourself off the cliff without a safety net let´s look at some of the questions you need to ask yourself.

1.  Why a Home Based Business?

What are the advantages and?

What are some of your thoughts?

Do they go like this?

Ø Have more time with my family.

Ø Gain true financial freedom

Ø Experience the ease of building a home based business

Ø Be surrounded by positive people who inspire me.

Ø Be my own boss.

Ø Gain visibility, influence and profitability

2. Why would you want to put your business on line?

Write a list of all the advantages TO YOU if you choose

to from home with an online business.

Not all business´s are suitable for online marketing.

Is yours?

Begin by asking yourself some questions. How do my customers find me now? Are they all locally based? Can I market myself and my products in other countries?

Can you monetize it?

Some businesses are just not a fit with the Internet. Just because you have built a super blog and started to network and join in the social buzz does not mean your particular business will attract customers.

Have you thought about where you and your business will be in 5 years time?

What are your visions for your life?

What do you want and how hard are you willing to work to get it?

3. Personal skills and talents.

Consider what skills you have and what you may need to learn.

How much time and money are you prepared to invest in setting up and structuring your business.

Have you made an inventory of your passions? Is your business aligned with your passions?

How could you best use your skills and talents to help others?

Which people will relate to you?   – This is your target audience.

What is your brand?  – ` I Am ‘ People by from people they love and trust.

4. What do I know about Attraction Marketing or Relationship  Marketing?

Are you able to encourage, empower other entrepreneurs?

Are you a sheep or shepherd?

5. Social Marketing.

Where do the Social Networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin You Tube, fit into the jigsaw?

6. Personal Development.

Success begins with your internal dialogue about your feelings   and emotions. How do you feel about you and what´s your why?

The success you manifest on the outside is dependent on the internal belief and dialogue on the inside.

It is important to have proper mindset, posture and personal development (PPP) in place going forward.

It’s all about knowing what you need and are going to use that will make up your overall marketing strategy.

Once you have made your inventory or skills then you can decide what courses you need to complement them and build a powerful online presence.

If you take time and do the initial groundwork it can cut your learning curve from 2 years to 6 months.

In future articles I will be discuss each of the headings in turn my wish is to Empower –Encourage- Engage in your entrepreneurial journey.

I look forward to connecting with you at a much in depth level.
